(1) The judicial council shall fill the vacant posts of judges in the district court in accordance with sub-section (2) of Article 149 of the Constitution. The Judicial Council will determine the immediate vacancy of the District Judge and also the position that will become vacant within the end of Chaitra every year and determine the percentage of filling the posts as per clauses (a), (b) and (c) of sub-section (2) of Article 149 of the Constitution.

(3) After determining the percentage in accordance with sub-section (2), the Judicial Council shall send a written recommendation to the Judicial Service Commission to select and recommend a suitable person for the post of District Judge to be filled in accordance with clauses (b) and (c) of sub-section (2) of Article 149 of the Constitution. .

(4) The Judicial Council shall make a timetable for filling the posts of District Judges according to this section within the middle of Chaitra every year.
